Karen and Tom were early members of what became Berkeley Cohousing. They provided us with guidance on community decision-making (consensus based)that has proven so valuable in the years since. Although they were never able to become part of our group (as tax resisters private property could be seized by the IRS) they threw themselves into the project whole-heartedly. Their vision of what cohousing could be was so much appreciated by me since I lost my own wife to cancer 10 years later but while living in cohousing. The phenomenal support that this model provides to its members during especially stressful times cannot be understated. So thanks Karen and Tom. I'll never forget.
